Call me Jamie. I am the creator of fast800dieter and freeifyou. I run a small business consultancy that specializes in building process automation and web solutions for other small businesses using Microsoft Power Platform technologies, OpenClaw and the Ruby on Rails web development framework.
In my former professional life I've been a mechanical engineer for British Aerospace, a senior lecturer for Liverpool John Moores University (where I taught mechanical engineering, stress analysis, programming and product design). More recently I have been a programming tutor at Code Nation before starting my own business - Analytica Quality Solutions. I enjoy my Honda CRF300 Rally motorcycle, and adventure travel. I have a daughter and grandson. Get in touch in the traditional way by emailing me at jamie@drfinlay.com. Alternaively, find me on LinkedIn.
the fast 800 dieter
The premise of Fast 800 Dieter is that you own your own biometric data. As the saying goes if you're not paying for the product, you are the product. It's a web app designed to keep your biometric data sovereign - your weight, waist-to-height ratio, BMI, resting heart rate, calory intake, bloods and more are your data and you should be in control of it. That's what this app does, and more is coming soon.
free if you
Free If You is the place you go to get rid of stuff you no longer need or want for free, and for fun. List an item and your requirements for 'winning' it. Getting rid of an old guitar? Then your ad might look like this:
My Harley Benton CG-45 NS acoustic guitar is free if you:
- Collect from me or agree to pay postage and packaging
- Are an absolute beginner
- Will post a video here showing you play the first song you learned within 1 month (not Stairway to Heaven pleeeease! 🫩)
The website runs on a kudos basis - you get kudos for listing and also for following through on your promises. Negative kudos is given to those who just want something for free without giving back to the community.
